Belafonte:

Special guest appearance (narration, testimonials)

Outline:

A documentary about the life of singer-songwriter Ted Hawkins, inluding rare

live performances and interviews. His enduring strength came from the simple

truths and pure emotions that were foremost in everything he created. Armed

with an acoustic guitar he spent much of his career performing on the streets.

He released six solo albums during his lifetime, the last of which was the

acclaimed major label debut entitled The Next Hundred Years. After 30

years of busking and hard times, he was finally on the verge of commercial

success. And then, as Thom Jurek (Detroit Metro Times) described the

events, "as suddenly as he seemingly appeared, he went away. Just after

Christmas of 1994, as the fanfare and fame were beginning to approach like a

freight train, Ted died from a stroke."
